The Left in Britain Now Wants to Ban...Bottled Water

If you are against Islamic nutjobs, the Left calls you a racist. If you question for a second the fake science behind "climate change," the Left says that you hate the planet earth and want children to die. Now, in a new flap, the Left in Britain thinks that drinking bottled water is a sin against the planet.

Next from the Left: breathing hurts the planet, and people must stop doing it.

Bottled water 'is immoral'

Drinking bottled water should be made as unfashionable as smoking, according to a government adviser.

"We have to make people think that it's unfashionable just as we have with smoking. We need a similar campaign to convince people that this is wrong," said Tim Lang, the Government's naural resources commissioner.

Phil Woolas, the environment minister, added that the amount of money spent on mineral water "borders on being morally unacceptable".

Their comments come as new research shows that drinking a bottle of water has the same impact on the environment as driving a car for a kilometre. Conservation groups and water providers have started a campaign against the £2 billion industry.

A BBC Panorama documentary, "Bottled Water: Who Needs It?", to be broadcast tomorrow says that in terms of production, a litre bottle of Evian or Volvic generates up to 600 times more CO2 than a litre of tap water.

And here is the note from the BBC on that "shlockumentary":

Bottled Water: Who Needs It?

In the UK last year we spent nearly £2 billion buying bottled water, yet a billion people around the world don't have access to safe drinking water.

On Monday Panorama looks at the impact the success of our bottled water industry is having on the environment.

Former BBC Environment Correspondent Tom Heap examines the UK consumers love affair with bottled water.

Sales of bottled water have boomed in recent decades, growing 200-fold from the 1970s.

But a litre of one of the UK's most popular French mineral waters generates up to 600 times more CO2 equivalent than a litre of Thames tap water.

The programme travels to Fiji where some of the more expensive bottled mineral water comes from - yet one in three Fijians do not have access to safe tap water.

Panorama also attended a water taste test undertaken by sommeliers - to see if experts could tell difference between some of the most expensive mineral waters and the liquid coming out of London's taps.

So, the new message from the Left is that by drinking bottled water, you are destroying the planet and, at the same time, denying other people "safe drinking water."

Why can't someone, somewhere, tell these intimidating fucks to go off somewhere and die? Or just leave the rest of us alone already with their baloney?
