Zawahari speaks to Americans: Democrats and Republicans mentioned in speech
This diary corrects a misconception being spread by the MSM today regarding the speech of al-Zawahari. It is quickly becoming a story that can be summed up as: Al-Qaeda's number two man has written a note to the Democratic party about November.
Well, that is only partially true.
Dr. al-Zawahari does speak to the Democrats in his speech; however, what is incontrovertible is that when the transcript of the speech is read in full, we find there is more to the speech, al-Zawahari also addressed the Republicans, and all Americans generally.
This latter fact is conveniently unmentioned both in Drudge's screaming headline: AL QAEDA MESSAGE TO DEMS: WE BEAT GOP IN NOVEMBER and by Brian Ross and Hoda Osman's piece that Drudge links, titled: Al Qaeda Sends a Message to Democrats.
Now, the question becomes why did ABC News and Drudge not cover the entire story? Why did they highlight the Democratic mention and neglect the Republican mention? What is their motivation for telling only half a story, when the entire story is more powerful and less political?
I can say that I have never found the translations of statements made by individuals unfriendly to the positions of the Bush Administration to be accurately represented in the MSM. Today, offers yet another example of the manipulation of public statements made by these individuals, for political purposes.

I really can say with complete certainty I don't give a tinkers damn why they hate us. They killed our fellow citizens if you forget.
Some of us are less compassionate then you obviously when it comes to our enemies.

So a few criminals cause a semi-major disaster that kills 3000 people and the response from the USA is to kill 650,000 innocent Iraqis - and you don't care.
