Texas Downie Suspended From Practicing Before US Supreme Court; Media Yawns

Imagine this scenario: a Republican Attorney General of some state is indicted and sent to prison for corruption. Then, the state takes his law license. Now, the US Supreme Court disallows him from practicing before that court.

This is important news, right? You would figure that the party this man belongs to would be mentioned, right? Of course it would - if the man was a Republican.

But since he is a Downie, no one mentions the story, and no one mentions which party he belongs to.

Supreme Court Suspends Jailed Texas AG

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Former Texas Attorney General Dan Morales, already disbarred by the state after his federal conviction for fraud and tax charges, was suspended Monday from practicing before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Morales, 50, is serving a four-year federal prison sentence. His projected release date is April 1, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Morales, who was attorney general during 1991-98, pleaded guilty in 2003 to mail fraud and filing a false income tax return. The charges resulted from an investigation surrounding legal fees paid in the state's $17 billion settlement with the tobacco industry while he was the state's chief attorney.

We have covered this case in the past, and yet the media cannot find itself to bring much attention to it, or mention Morales' party.

The media's desire to help the Nancy Pelosi Party continues.
