The BBC Does It Again: Accusing US Troops of War Crimes with "Evidence" From Terrorists

In every war Americans have fought in, our enemies have bragged about numerous war crimes committed by our brave soldiers. 99% of the time the stories are pure fantasy, and no one believes them but the worst American haters out there.

Now, comes the BBC with one of the most breathtakingly anti-American stories ever. The "Beeb" accuses US forces of war crimes in the Iraqi city of Ishaqi. How do they come about these charges? Because they got proof from terrorists.

Wait - terrorists? Terrorists blowing people up, or killing American soldiers...this is what the BBC is relying on?

Yep.

New 'Iraq massacre' tape emerges

The BBC has uncovered new video evidence that US forces may have been responsible for the deliberate killing of 11 innocent Iraqi civilians.

The video appears to challenge the US military's account of events that took place in the town of Ishaqi in March.

The US said at the time four people died during a military operation, but Iraqi police claimed that US troops had deliberately shot the 11 people.

[...]

The video tape obtained by the BBC shows a number of dead adults and children at the site with what our world affairs editor John Simpson says were clearly gunshot wounds.

The pictures came from a hardline Sunni group opposed to coalition forces.

Notice the wording: "a hardline Sunni group." Well, in fact, al Qaeda is a "hardline Sunni group." To anyone but the numbskulls at the BBC, that is code for "terrorists and their enablers."

So, the BBC went to a terrorist group who gave them pictures of dead civilians. And this is proof that Americans committed war crimes!

Next, the BBC will show flowers growing at Auschwitz, which proves that no mass murder of Jews took place there. The pictures will be provided by Hitler Photography, Inc.

Update!

It appears that the BBC got its shit wrong, because the soldiers involved in this alleged crime were cleared today.

Take that, pussies.

US troops cleared over Ishaqi civilian deaths

A military investigation into allegations that US troops intentionally killed Iraqi civilians in a March 15 raid in a village north of Baghdad has cleared the troops of misconduct, two defence officials said on Friday.

The investigation concluded that the US troops followed normal procedures in raising the level of force as they came under attack upon approaching a building where they believed an al-Qaeda terrorist was hiding, the officials said. They spoke on condition of anonymity because the results had not been publicly released.

The Army's Criminal Investigation Division reviewed the results of the investigation and found no reason to probe further, the officials said.

Good to hear - that the US military is fairly investigating these stories, and not caving to the likes of the BBC and their ilk.
