Frightened Downies Declare Bush Impeachment "Off the Table" - Then Snicker at the MSM's Stupidity

The Downies in the US House want to take control in November - and with the MSM telling the American people each day that the Republicans are responsible for everything from bird flu to high gas prices to Barry Bonds not getting his 714th home run, it may happen. The MSM can just taste it, and they will report every lie and half-truth to make it happen.

But, alas, the MSM has a problem - the horse they are backing, the Downtrodden Party, has a reputation of shooting itself in the ass when the opportunity presents itself. In 1996, when Downies looked poised to take back the House, Bill Clinton's phunny munny scandal shocked the country, and although Clinton was re-elected the Downies didn't win the House. In 2000, 2002, and 2004 the Downies lost seats because they thought running on "George W. Bush is the devil incarnate" is some sort of platform to vote for.

So, with this in mind, the Downies are trying to get those 217 seats to make Nancy Pelosi (D-Nutjob) the Speaker. But when fellow nutjobs John Conyers and the rest of the bitter Left crowd tell the MSM that if they win control they will impeach President Bush and open investigations, the MSM can only say, "Vote for the Downies! After all, they mean well!"

The Downies are starting to see 2006 slip away - because Nancy Shmancy Pelosi is telling the MSM that "impeachment is off the table."

Democrats Won't Try To Impeach President

Seeking to choke off a Republican rallying cry, the House's top Democrat has told colleagues that the party will not seek to impeach President Bush even if it gains control of the House in November's elections, her office said last night.

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) told her caucus members during their weekly closed meeting Wednesday "that impeachment is off the table; she is not interested in pursuing it," spokesman Brendan Daly said.

[...]

Daly said Pelosi never considered impeachment a priority. Republicans "are in such desperate shape," he said, "we don't want to give them anything to grab on to." He said Conyers agrees with Pelosi's thinking.

And now the MSM can tell everyone that nice Nancy and smiling Johnny Conyers are against impeachment, so they can continue their "Let's elect Pelosi as Speaker" campaign for 2006.

And if Pelosi is somehow elected Speaker, and she breaks her promise, which network will call her on it? Maybe Fox - but CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, and NBC won't bother, because by then these phony baloney liberals dressed as journalists will be on the "let's impeach George W. Bush" bandwagon.
