More Evidence of Black Racism Against Black Republicans

Lynn Swann, former football player for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is about to get the Republican nomination for Governor of Pennsylvania. How do blacks react to this news? With hostility, as one liberal writer is thrilled to announce.

Swann can't assume he'll sweep the black vote

From Pittsburgh to Philadelphia, black Pennsylvanians are honoring Black History Month, a period of cultural self-exploration and pride in our history.

Or, as white Pennsylvanians call it, February.

Nevertheless, although not everyone in our state is embracing Black History Month, Pennsylvania is about to make black history as former Steelers wide receiver Lynn Swann, R-Sewickley Heights, runs for governor. This is no small move to bust on Swann's part.

[...]

Unfortunately, Swann's initial campaign rallies have proven to be whiter than the gallery at the Masters tournament. And it seems few black Pittsburghers refuse to give up the dap for the NFL Hall of Famer.

"Vote for Lynn Swann? You got to be kidding me," laughed Celeste Webster of the Strip District. "He don't talk black, he don't act black, and he hasn't said a thing about what he's going to do for his people."

Webster, a black Democrat, was even unsupportive of Swann because he once had a white wife. "He probably drives a white car for all I know," she laughed.

Other black Pittsburghers I spoke with questioned how Swann, a black man living in an upscale, predominantly white community, could be expected to care about the interests of blacks in this state, the majority of whom live in low-income, urban areas.

Imagine if a white politician who happened to marry a black wife ran for office, but whites asked about it said, "Vote for him? With the black wife? He probably has a black car, for all I know."

The blacks in the area, and around the country, would be outraged, and justifiably so. But black racism is fine. And the MSM is fine with it. Otherwise, these people would be slapped, and this racist of a reporter would lose his job.
