John Kerry: Still Changing His Mind, One Issue at a Time

In the 2004 election, John Kerry (Delusional-Massachusetts) bragged how he had voted for something, only to vote against it right away. He was caught telling this to a crowd, and it was videotaped, and used against him to show what a flip-flopper he really is. The video simply tagged him and it killed whatever chances he had of stealing winning the election.

But it appears this was not the last time Kerry flipped and flopped. The AP ("The AP, the UP, every pea in a pod") did a story about alleged angst on Capitol Hill over Iraq, and accidentally exposed Sir Flipper, despite their passing right over the flop without comment.

This is too hilarious for words.

Iraq a Tricky Issue for Dems Eyeing 2008

Sen. John Kerry initially voted in favor of a Republican-sponsored resolution calling on President Bush to explain his strategy for success in Iraq. Minutes later, the Democrat changed his vote.

Egads, is that awful. But it isn't the end of Kerry's flipfloppiness:

A Democratic measure, which the Senate rejected, called for a timetable for withdrawing troops. A Republican alternative, which the Senate ultimately passed, urged the Bush administration to explain "its strategy for the successful completion of the mission in Iraq" but omitted a timetable.

Kerry, last year's Democratic presidential candidate who is said to be considering another run, first voted for the GOP resolution. He then left the chamber and was seen just steps off the Senate floor talking briefly to his senior home state colleague, Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass. Kerry walked back into the chamber and changed his vote.

David Wade, a Kerry spokesman, said Republicans weakened the resolution "late in the game," and "Sen. Kerry mistakenly believed strong language demanding benchmarks and timetables was still intact. Our troops deserve better than half measures, and that's why John Kerry voted against it."

Before the vote, the Senate debated the main difference between the two measures - one called for a timetable and the other didn't. In his floor statement, Kerry said he intended to vote against the GOP resolution partly because it lacked a timetable.

So, here is what Kerry did: he voted for the Downie amendment. When it failed, he voted for the Republican amendment. Then he left the floor, and realized that the Republican amendment was different than the Downie amendment. He then returned to the Senate floor and voted against the Republican amendment, taking back his vote.

The question here is: Did he read the second amendment before voting for it? Is he so dense that it was not until Ted "Killer" Kennedy told him there was a difference between the two that he noticed? Then Kerry voted against it after he voted for it.

That John Kerry is a moron is beyond dispute. That he votes for things and then votes against them is also not in dispute - this is not the first time this has happened. But what this story missed, and other stories miss, is that Kerry appears to vote on things before he reads them. Or perhaps he just does not comprehend them? And they call President Bush stupid. Thank God President Bush beat Kerry, an unadultered moron.
