John Downwards: "I am Sorry for Being a Complete Moron"

John Downwards, former US Senator from North Carolina and running mate of John Kerry in 2004, has apologized for voting for the Iraq war resolution.

Little Johnny is running for President. He wants to appeal to the majority of his party, made up of anti-American fucking lunatics.

Edwards on Iraq: 'I was wrong'

In what could be the opening shot in the race for the Democrats' 2008 presidential nomination, former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina said Sunday that he made a mistake when he voted in 2002 to authorize the war in Iraq.

"I was wrong," Edwards wrote in a column that appeared on the op-ed page of the Washington Post. "I take responsibility for that mistake. It has been hard to say these words because those who didn't make a mistake -- the men and women of our armed forces and their families -- have performed heroically and paid a dear price."

Edwards, who ran for president in 2004 and is likely to do so again in 2008, said that his war vote as a senator was based on intelligence reports that turned out to be "deeply flawed ... Had I known this at the time, I never would have voted for this war."

We give Downwards one thing: he is not saying the old standard leftist mantra that "Bush Lied!" Instead, he is saying that the intelligence was "deeply flawed." So, at least there is that.

But it appears that Downwards' running mate, while continuing to act like the losing asshole that he has always been, refuses to retract what he said more than a year ago:

Kerry: Still Would Have Approved Force for Iraq

GRAND CANYON, Ariz. (Reuters) - Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry said on Monday he would have voted for the congressional resolution authorizing force against Iraq even if he had known then no weapons of mass destruction would be found.

Taking up a challenge from President Bush, whom he will face in the Nov. 2 election, the Massachusetts senator said: "I'll answer it directly. Yes, I would have voted for the authority. I believe it is the right authority for a president to have but I would have used that authority effectively."

We await eagerly that Kerry jump on board the current Downie horseshit and claim he was lied to. It would be nice to see that the media replay the comments Kerry made that day at the Grand Canyon. But they won't, because the media is right up the leftwing's ass.
