For Joobo, the end of Fox News

We have been sitting for the last 3 weeks and watching as our once-beloved Fox News has melted down into a morass of anti-Bush rants and screeds and ridiculous music and a theme ("America's Challenge") which has made us vomit numerous times. America's "challenge"? How about "Ray Nagin is an Idiot"? "Kathleen Blanco is an Imbecile"?

Their music during the hurricane coverage is horrible - not much better than that for the 24/7 coverage over Natalie "I am a Moron on My First Trip From Home and I Pick Up Three Mass Murderers and Decide to have Sex With Them" Holloway which was nothing short of monotonous. We yelled at the tv each time the "Holloway Case" story came on: "Who cares? She's Dead! Get Over It!"

But what lost Fox for us was their horrific, disgusting, anti-Bush rants from the likes of Shepherd Smith, Geraldo Riviera (send his ass packing back to CNBC, willya?), and Bill O'Reilly, whose ratings have gone from 2 million viewers a night to 1.6 million and dropping.

(Hey, O'Reilly - tell US why 400,000 people have refused to watch your show in the last few weeks. And it has nothing to do with talking dirty to a former worker.)

But what lost it this evening was Brit Hume, always a reliable face and voice of reason. Opening tonight's show, he joined the "George W. Bush Basher's Group" and mouthed off a complete lie.

Some background: the liberal media has taken a lot of liberties in reporting day after day that President Bush's approval ratings have been at their lowest levels. Of course, when Clinton's numbers dropped they didn't mention that. 2 weeks ago, Bush's approval ratings were at 40% - low, but not Jimmy Carter low.

The latest Gallup Poll this week shows Bush's numbers UP - to 46%:

State of the Nation

George W. Bush Approval Rating:

46% - Approval
51% - Disapproval

You would think that Fox would report the truth of this.

So, instead, Brit Hume opened tonight's "Special Report" with (paraphrasing here), "President Bush's ratings hit an historic low."

UNKKKKK! Sorry, Mr. Hume, but that is a LIE - and something we expect CNN to do. Not Fox.

So, until Fox goes back to the way it was, and gets rid of Shepherd Smith, Geraldo Riviera, and tells Bill O'Reilly and Brit Hume to tell the truth and get off the Bush Derangement Brigade, we will avoid Fox News.
