Iran Nuclear Stand-off Round-Up: More Bullshit, More Bullshit, and More Bullshit

The world is poised for a nuclear standoff as it has never before seen: Iran is working day after day to get a nuclear weapon, one that it intends to use against Israel to destroy the Jewish state. President Bush let Europe handle this hot potato after the French convinced him that they could bring Iran around to their way of thinking. Now, 2 years later, the French and the Germans and the British have nothing but egg on their faces to show for their efforts - and Iran is that much closer to getting a nuke. So, France and Germany will allow the US to go to the UN, like they promised 2 years ago if their efforts failed? Not so fast, say the smelly armpits of France and Germany. And when President Bush told Israeli television that a military option was on the table, Germany's Hitler impersonator Gerhardon Schroeder once again makes an asshole of himself and plays to his supporters' hatred of America.

Germany attacks US on Iran threat

German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder has warned the US to back away from the possibility of military action against Iran over its nuclear programme.

His comments come a day after President Bush reiterated that force remained an option but only as a last resort.

Iran has resumed what it says is a civilian nuclear research programme but which the West fears could be used to develop nuclear arms.

Germany, France and the UK have led efforts to end the crisis peacefully.

Mr Schroeder's rejection of force came at the official launch of his party's election campaign.

The BBC's Ray Furlong - reporting from Hanover - says there was an echo of his last election campaign three years ago, when his steadfast opposition to the use of force against Iraq helped get him re-elected.

Mr Schroeder directly challenged Mr Bush's comment that "all options are on the table" over the Iran crisis.

"Let's take the military option off the table. We have seen it doesn't work," Mr Schroeder told Social Democrats at the rally in Hanover, to rapturous applause from the crowd.

Mr Schroeder said it remained important that Iran did not gain atomic weapons, and a strong negotiating position was important.

"The Europeans and the Americans are united in this goal," he said. "Up to now we were also united in the way to pursue this."

Mr Schroeder reiterates his views in an interview to be published Sunday in the German weekly Bild am Sonntag, labelling military action "extremely dangerous".

Little Gerry realizes that he won 3 years ago by running on an anti-American platform, and he thinks it will win it for him again. We should ban all tourism to Germany if they think they can get away with this kind of crap a second time.

Turning to Iran itself, the world is just waking up to the realization that the "Europe 3" - Great Britain, France, and Germany - who asked the US for time to bring Iran around, have been had themselves by the sneaky Muslim scumbags running Iran's mullahcracy. And how do we know this? Because one of Iran's leaders admitted as such on Iranian television.

Iran 'kept EU talking' while it finished nuclear plant

An Iranian foreign policy official has boasted that the regime bought extra time over its stalled negotiations with Europe to complete a uranium conversion plant.

In comments that will infuriate EU diplomats, Hosein Musavian said that Teheran took advantage of the nine months of talks, which collapsed last week, to finish work at its Isfahan enrichment facility.

"Thanks to the negotiations with Europe we gained another year in which we completed the [project] in Isfahan," he told an Iranian television interviewer.

Mr Musavian also claimed that work on nuclear centrifuges at a plant at Natanz, which was kept secret until Iran's exiled opposition revealed its existence in 2002, progressed during the negotiations.

"We needed six to 12 months to complete the work on the centrifuges," said Mr Musavian, chairman of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council's foreign policy committee. He made his remarks on August 4 - two days before Iran's foreign ministry rejected the European Union offer of incentives to abandon its uranium enrichment programme.

As each day passes, and Iran gets closer to obtaining a nuclear weapon, the world gets that closer to a nightmare of untold proportions: having the leading terrorist state have a nuclear weapon. If we listen to Gerhardon Schroeder, we will pay dearly. We must act, and now.

In Iran, they are laughing at all of us for our refusal to take them on. This strengthens the lunatic Muslim mullahs who run that shithole of a country. And now that Iran has told Europe to fuck off, and Europe stands prostrate, unable to do anything, the Iranians get bolder and bolder - and the US cannot act because the Euro-peons are afraid to act.

Majlis speaker urges EU to use language of logic

Majlis Speaker Gholam Ali Haddad-Adel said here on Sunday that the most recent resolution on Iran’s nuclear program issued by the International Atomic Energy Agency Board of Governors is illegal, adding that the Iranian nation would not tolerate such an intrusion.

Haddad-Adel also urged the European Union to use the language of logic not threats.

This is a disgusting display. When will President Bush tell France and Germany to drop dead and act? What is he waiting for? For Iran to have a nuclear weapon like North Korea and threaten the world with it?
