Abortion Pill Kills; Liberals Silent

If a drug were on the market for Americans to use and people died from it, and the Bush administration did nothing, liberals would get on every network and hollar from the rooftops that Bush was selling the health of Americans out to the pharmaceutical industry, and did not care about the welfare of the American people. So when the FDA orders an investigation into the deaths associated with the liberals' favorite pill, RU-486, which has brought abortion home to women all over, the liberals don't cheer - they yell, they scream, they bring up the canard of the "end of Roe v. Wade."

Consistency, consistency - how one wishes liberals would have but one ounce of it.

Report: CDC Investigates RU-486 Deaths In LA County

Officials are investigating whether there are links in the cases of four women -- two of them in Los Angeles County -- who died after taking the so-called abortion pill, RU-486, and a follow-up drug, it was reported Monday.

The investigation comes after last month's Food and Drug Administration announcement, following the death in June of 34-year-old Oriane Shevin of Sherman Oaks, warning doctors and patients of the potential for serious bacterial infection under certain circumstances.

The Centers for Disease Control is investigating the deaths along with the Food and Drug Administration, the California Department of Health Services and the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, the Los Angeles Times reported.

RU-486, prescribed under the name Mifeprex, was approved by the FDA in 2000 over the objections of abortion opponents. It is taken orally in a clinic or doctors' office up to 49 days after a woman becomes pregnant. Several days later, the drug misoprostol is given.

But check out the response of liberals to this:

Abortion Pill Investigated in Four California Deaths

Vicki Saporta, president of the National Abortion Federation, said such concerns were vastly overblown. "There has been no causal relationship established between the medical abortion and the subsequent infection," she said. "This is a very, very rare occurrence…. Childbirth is 10 to 13 times riskier than having an abortion, either medical or surgical."

Yep - let us keep that pill legal, so that NARAL and Planned Parenthood can continue to make millions off of the misery of women.
