Former Senator Max Cleland Writes to Joobo

Yep, we received the following e-mail from former US Senator Max Cleland, current liar who, it was discovered, was injured in Vietnam not from being wounded in action but from juggling several hand grenades and having one of them go off, costing Maxie Baby his legs and one of his arms.

Said Mr. Cleland is trying to push the candidacy of a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, who is running as a Downie to a congressional seat in Ohio. Maxie sounds a little angry. I wonder why?

Marine Major and Democrat Paul Hackett could be a first for our country -- the first veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom to be elected to Congress. He fought in the Fallujah campaign, took part in reconstruction efforts and worked side-by-side with Iraqi military and civil personnel.

[How interesting...Downies spit on soldiers who serve, until somehow they return and run for political office as Downies. Then they are people to pay attention to. - Editor]

Paul Hackett knows what's really happening in Iraq. [And he would be the first in his party. - Editor] And, he's ready to take his experience to Washington. He's running in the August 2nd special election in Ohio's 2nd Congressional District stretching from just outside Cincinnati eastward along the Ohio River.

Paul's campaign has a tough fight against some of the most entrenched special interests in Ohio. His opponent, Jean Schmidt, is a favorite of the corrupt and ever-present Republican establishment -- one that never misses an opportunity to smear and cheat.

[Corrupt? Entrenched special interests? Do I hear some accusations being thrown around? Does Maxie offer any proof? Of course not - just smear and slander from the Left. - Editor]

Take a look at a day in the life of the two candidates. On the night of October 25, 2004, Jean Schmidt had dinner at an expensive restaurant and partied at a Bengals game in Cincinnati. Her trip, sponsored by a global bio-tech lobbyist, yielded yet another ethics scandal for Ohio Republicans.

That same evening, Paul and his men were keeping insurgents' supplies from entering war-torn Falluja. They ate the standard-issue MRE and fought to defend Iraqi civilians and their fellow troops.

[Imagine the reaction if Republicans offered a "let's compare the GOP and Downies and what they did today" ad. For instance, today President Bush is working for America, and John Kerry flew to France to check out the Tour de France. The Downies would scream if that happened - but they can do it all day long. - Editor]

At the end of the day, the choice for voters couldn't be clearer. In Jean Schmidt, they have the hand-picked choice of the backslapping insiders who sell the process to the highest-bidding right-wing group or corporate interest.

[More slander. Proof? One iota of any forthcoming, Maxie? Just one? - Editor]

In Paul Hackett, voters have someone with first-hand experience in uniform and the drive to solve problems and put us on the right track. He proudly served his country in Iraq, and he's ready to serve in Washington.

[I think the 99% of veterans who return who run for office (as Republicans) should use this as a standard. Let's see the reaction of the left, and then ignore them as usual. - Editor]

Tell your friends, family and neighbors about what's happening in Ohio's 2nd District because it's a preview of what's to come next year - real leaders stepping up to serve at a time of abuse of power and corruption in government.

[I wonder if Mr. Hackett knows that his party is rooting for him and his fellow vets to lose in Iraq and Afghanistan. - Editor]

Thank you,

Senator Max Cleland

Downies seem to find heroism when one vet returns from a war that Downies denounce and runs for office as one of them. Otherwise, they have hatred, contempt, and lots of spit for those vets who deign to return and not agree with the Left that America is a criminal nation and its soldiers are committing war crimes on a daily basis. We have no bad words for Mr. Hackett - but how he can run in the same party which boasts the likes of Dennis Kucinich, Jim McDermott, and Jane Fonda is something he needs to answer for.

PS - Even Downies admit that Schmidt will win that seat in August.
