Tuesday, Kansas voters approved a ban on gay marriage, 69% to 31%. This is now 18th state where voters had this issue before them, and the 18th where it passed. States where voters defeated a ban on gay marriage? Zero.
Kansas Voters Approve Gay Nups Ban
Voters in Kansas overwhelmingly approved a constitutional amendment banning same-sex couples from marrying or entering into civil unions.
With more than half of precincts reporting Tuesday, 276,876 votes, or 69 percent, were cast in favor of a constitutional amendment, with 121,836 votes, or 31 percent, opposed.
The country is now split, between the pro-courts party (Downies) and the pro-people party (Republicans). When an issue of great importance needs to be decided, look to see which party goes where to see where it will ultimately end up.
