Iraqi television aired the confession of a Syrian officer who confessed to helping train terrorists in Iraq to build bombs and behead hostages.
I think the UN should listen to this. They can have a meeting, vote to do nothing, and then all the little ambassadors can follow Kofi Annan to some expensive New York restaurant where their meals are paid for by their own countries.
Iraqi TV Airs Tape of Purported Confession
Iraqi state television aired a video Wednesday showing what the U.S.-funded channel said was the confession of a captured Syrian officer who said he trained Iraqi insurgents to behead people and build car bombs to attack American and Iraqi troops.
The video also showed an Iraqi who said the insurgents practiced beheading animals to train for decapitating hostages.
Syrian officials could not immediately be reached for comment on the claims.
I bet Bashir Assad is trying to think up a great excuse for why this man was caught in Iraq.
Here's some suggestions:
1) He's really a cook, and meant to say he had some "explosive dishes" in mind;
2) He's really a mechanic, trying to make cars in Iraq run better;
3) He is from Amnesty International, distributing missiles and explosives to needy Ba'athist thugs.
Your guess is as good as mine.
